Frederik (only child of Christoffel and Judith) was born in Stellenbosch and baptised on 27 June 1718. Frederik passed away on 28 December 1790 at the age of 72. He farmed in the Palmiet Valley between Breede Rivier and Kleinberg. His mother, Judith passed away at the age of 20 when he was only 1½ years old.

On 26 June 1746 at the age of 28 he married Cornelia (Neeltje) BRAND who was 18 years old at the time.

Cornelia was baptised on 8 February 1728 in Stellenbosch. She passed away in Stellenbosch. She was the daughter of Johannes BRAND and grand daughter of Robbert BRAND of Oslo, Norway. Her mother is Christina DE VEY daughter of Maria JACOBS and Abraham DE VEY (VEYTH) a trader from Batavia.

On the 28 February 1754 Frederik gets approval from Ryk Tulbach to let his livestock graze in the Palmiet Valley between The Breede River and Kleinberg.

Frederik and Cornelia had 11 children. The mother of the eldest daughter, Judith is given as Dina VAN DEVENTER. It is not clear if Frederik was previously married or if Judith is a daughter of his before his marriage to Neeltje (Cornelia).

Cornelia gave birth to Johannes Antonie at the age of 20 and Frederik was 30. Their last child Beatrix Helena was born to Cornelia when she was 41 years old and Frederik was 50 years old
